A School Reunion at Franklins Gardens

Mick McMahon writes:

An amazing coincidence happened to me when I went to Franklins Gardens on Saturday evening to see the Saints play Montpellier on the 18th October 2008.

For the last three years I have been a Saints season ticket holder and endeavour to attend every home game, I sit in the same seat every game and next to the same man and his family.  Last night whilst waiting for the game to start we chatted as normal and the talk got round to "Where we live now and in the past";  He comes from Kingsthorpe and I from Kings Heath via Jimmies End.

I asked if he knew of John Gregory otherwise known as Snowy due to his blonde hair, his answer was yes he did and that they had been in the same class at NTHS.  To cut to the chase, it has transpired that we are old class mates and along with a Michael Ganley (unfortunately deceased) we formed the "Irish Lot" and when he told me his name I nearly fell off my crutches his name is Mick Mulcahy, his reaction to my name (Mick McMahon) was also surprising to say the least as we hadn't seen each other since April 1961 when I joined the army and moved away.  We have been chatting to each other before matches for some time, and had not recognised the connection.
