Steve Garrett has sent in two memories.

Sixth Form Society Concert - 1970 (or 1971)

The reverse of the concert ticket was in use at my father-in-law's house as a reminder when his fast-freeze function of his freezer was switched on!

I remember the concert - it must have been 1970 or 1971 - and the main (if not only) band were Dark, then featuring Steve Giles, who founded the band, on vocals and guitar, and Charlie Hiams on drums.  Both Steve and Charlie were in my year at school and Steve still lives in the town.  At the time his father ran the photographers in Wellingborough Road.  The band's claim to fame is that their first record, released in 1972, is one of the most valuable records - the 2005 edition of Record Collector places it at 30th equal with a value of £1,800 for one of the first dozen.  There have been a number of articles in the national press about Dark over the last few years because of the value of the record.
