Trinity Reunions in 2020

Covid-19 Update.

Following the announcement from the Government on the 10th May, sadly the Class of 70 Reunion has been postponed.  A Reunion does not naturally lend itself to Social Distancing, but as the pubs will not be reopened by then, it is not possible to go ahead.  Peter Austen plans to set a new date for June 2022, which will also be the the fiftieth anniversary for those who stayed on in to the sixth form of taking their A-Levels.  The details of what had been planned are below.  [Details]

At the moment, we are hoping that the Trinity Tower Reunion can go ahead, but we will have to make a decision nearer the time.  Once the pubs have re-opened, we need to assess what Social Distancing is possible, etc, and whether the public has an appetite for returning to pubs.  It is possible, that I may do another survey to find out how many people are interested, if it can be run.

The Return of the Trinity Tower Reunion

Date:  Saturday 10th October 2020

Time:  1pm until 6pm

Venue:  The Old White Hart, Cotton End, Far Cotton, Northampton  NN4 8BS.

After a two year gap, we will be having a multi-year Trinity Tower Reunion again in 2020.  The date will be Saturday 10th October 2020.

The timing will be slightly revised, so the reunion will start at 1pm and run until 6pm.

We have a new venue, thanks to Karen Dawson.  It is The Old White Hart in Cotton End, Far Cotton.  We will be in a private room, with a private bar, and capable of holding up to 150 people.  That should give us plenty of room.  Food will be available to order at the bar and will be served to you.  There is an attractive bar-food menu and a wide choice of drinks, including real ale!

There is a frequent bus service from the town centre to stops very close to the pub, making it easy to come by public transport.  There is also a large car park for those who come by car. The Old White Hart website is [here]

More details will appear here nearer the time, but please make a note of the date now.

The Class of 70 Reunion - Postponed until June 2022

Peter Austen has identified some people who have never attended a reunion before, and so has decided to run one for his year in 2020.  This will be an informal reunion.

Date:  Saturday 27th June 2020

Time:  14:00 to 17:00hrs

Venue:  The Cordwainer, The Ridings, Northampton, NN1 2AQ (upstairs).

The Cordwainer is the only remaining Wetherspoons in Northampton. We used the upstairs area for a number of years for the big reunions until they decided we were getting in the way of their regular customers.  Since then there has been an extensive refurbishment, and there is now a large outdoor roof terrace.  There will not be a designated area for us but I'm sure, that even after fifty years in some cases, we will locate each other. Food from an extensive menu will be available throughout.

As with the big reunions, some people might arrange to meet in smaller groups for a meal elsewhere, either before or more likely after the event.

An increased choice of twelve real ales is available for those of you who like them.   If you are at all interested in attending then please put the date in your spanking new 2020 diary and send an e-mail to

Peter will email a reminder in early June.  If you know anyone else from that year, who might be interested, then please give them  the details. This includes people who joined Trinity for the sixth form and left in 1972.
