A Photo of Taffy Newell Receiving a Presentation on his Retirement

A number of people have responded with the names of the two pupils.  Everyone agrees that boy is Keith Rooke.  However, the girl has been suggested as Sally Cooper and Liz Tavener.

Taffy was being given a leaving present of a briefcase and typewriter.  He had selected the typewriter in order to write his memoirs or other books.  They were bought with pupils' contributions.  Just why Taffy wanted them presented by first years rather than upper school pupils he had taught for years is anyone's guess.  I have no idea of who the two pupils were but I know they would have been about five years younger than me.
